澳新银行(ANZ Bank)是全澳四大银行之一,全球排名在前50位。银行的历史可追溯到150年以前,总部设在墨尔本,十九世纪三十年代开立了第一家办公室,当时叫做澳大利亚银行(Bank of Australia)。澳新银行是一个公众公司,设立于澳大利亚维多利亚州,并在澳大利亚证券交易有限公司上市。其被授权按照《银行法案 ( 联邦 )》(1959)在澳大利亚开展银行业务,并受澳大利亚谨慎监管当局(the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority)监管。

Corporate governance
In relation to corporate governance, ANZ's Board seeks to:
embrace principles and practices it considers to be best practice internationally;
be an 'early adopter', where appropriate, by complying before a published law or recommendation takes effect; and
take an active role in discussions of corporate governance best practice and associated regulation in Australia and overseas.

We provide a range of banking and financial products and services to more than 5.7 million retail customers. We employ over 39,000 people worldwide.
Business strategy
We aim to become a super regional bank. This involves growing our presence in the Asia Pacific region to around 20% of earnings by 2012, while also being very focused on the existing business and opportunities across Australia and New Zealand.
Our growth targets are based on four core capabilities:
- Customer focus: continuing our focus on simplicity, convenience and responsibility
- Marketing and sales: shifting our thinking from selling commodity products and being more customer focused in the way we market ourselves and serve our customers
- Technology: improving technology to the levels used by banks globally
- Performance: out-performing at every level – financial out-performance, out-performance in customer service and in our work ethic.
